Astrachan and Salam |
|
Astrachan is now officially retired, although I do ride him every now and again. But, we have a new stallion that will be standing here at Cascade Gold. Salam has come from Freedom Run Farms in Michigan, after being imported from Russia in 2006 . Salam is an elite graded stallion, 16.1 hands tall, black, Fakir Pelvan line. He has been lightly used for breeding so far, as he was in dressage training and was about to compete at third level, when a pasture accident interrupted his career. He is now breeding sound and is being graciously leased to us by Freedom Run Farms. He will be standing here for Live Cover and AI breeding. His only foal on the ground so far is Suyji, who is out of our homebred mare, Alav. Suyji was sold as an event and stallion prospect and we hope for great things from him and his owner. We are expecting two foals by him next year out of two very nice mares. We just had a photoshoot with our favorite photographer, Karen Wegenhenkel, so check out his photos on his page. New photos of Suyji are forthcoming.
