Cascade Gold Akhal-Tekes

Home of the elite purebred stallion astrachan

Things that are on the “To-Do” list for this year.  Of course, the list NEVER ends.

We had another addition put on the barn, mainly for hay.  We now have the arena enclosed on both long sides.  It only took the company a year, but it’s done now.

We want to fence our 2 1/2 acre pasture with 3 board fencing all around.  Right now it’s partially board and the rest is electric tape.  It works, but boards are better and thanks to Jay and Amrita Ibold’s timber-frame business, we have lots of ‘junk-wood’ (to them!) to do it.

To help on those hot dusty summer days (all 10 of them).

The first one is working so well that we want to do more.  The actual number we get done will depend on time and money.

We’ll be adding two 12 x 24 stalls to the addition on the barn with a big run off them.  These will be foaling stalls and also for Khano and his wife, Yamka, next winter.  We have one done and Annie and Slari are really enjoying it.  We’ll see if #2 gets done before winter.

Barn addition FINALLY done!

We just got back from the Horse Around Expo in Mt. Vernon.  Amrita Ibold was there with two horses, Wendy Connell brought one and we brought two.  This was Andy, Ari and Allie’s first expo ever, but by the end, they were pretty comfortable with all the hoopla.  Good crowds, lots of fun!  Ari and Callie did a great job.

Home on the Range, March 31st, 2007– Callie and Ari and Galen and I went to Eastern Washington for the first ride of the season.  Callie and Ari did their first ever organized ride at Home on the Range, in Othello, WA in late March and both did very well.  We did the 11 mile trail ride and after a somewhat rocky start, they settled in very nicely and we finished in about 3 hours.
